A late start

Hello,everyone.It's a good idea to introduce myself to all of you in my first post.My name is Wong, Yat Tung.(Wong is my surname).I come from Hong Kong,19 years old.I would spend 3 years in Australia to get a degree.I am doing Bachelor of Arts,major in Economics and Journalism & Mass Communication.The only reason for me to come to Australia and paying a "full" international tuition fee to receive tertiary education is.........I can't get a university place in Hong Kong after finish the Advanced-Level public examination.Fortunately,my family offer me an opportunity to study abroad.I have to say thank-you to my parents for their financial and spiritual support.
Actually,this is the first semester for me to study at UQ.And it's just Week4!!!I still have too much stuff need to learn from here,no matter academically or socially.Why I choose Journalism & Mass Communication as a major in my study?It's because analytical skill is very important in this society.No matter which field you are working in,analytical skill is essential for you to complete almost every tasks.Moreover, as I come from a non-English speaking region,I do need to improve my English as well as I can.The courses from Journalism do require us to read more and write more.It's a good chance for me to learn some writing styles and communication skills from this field of study.
